Ceramic Materials Workshop Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Ceramic Materials Workshop, Inc. (“we”, “us” or “CMW”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from you when you visit and use the https://www.ceramicmaterialsworkshop.com/ website (the “Site”) and access CMW’s online courses and workshops (“Courses”) through the online course creation platforms (the “Platforms”) hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”) and Ruzuku, Inc. (“Ruzuku”).
Collection of information
Personal Information: We may collect personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) from you in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when you enroll in CMW’s Courses, subscribe to our mailing list and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available through the Site and the Platforms. We will collect Personal Information from you only if you voluntarily submit such information to us. In order to access certain features of the Site and enroll in Courses, you may be required to submit certain Personal Information and other information to CMW, including your name, email address, and password. You may visit the Site anonymously and refuse to supply Personal Information but doing so will prevent you from engaging in any Course-related activities. Under no circumstances should you provide your social security number, driver’s license number, credit card or banking account information, or other sensitive Personal Information through the Site.
Use Data: By choosing to use the Site, you agree to provide CMW with certain information that is automatically created, collected, and recorded by your use of the Site (“Use Data”). This Use Data may include information such as your operating system version and type, current IP address, geographic location, and information about your usage of the Site. CMW uses third-party analysis software tools (the “Tools”), such as “cookies” and web server logs to gather Use Data. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored on your hard drive. The Tools may be used by CMW to, among other things, collect business and technical statistics such as the number of new visitors to the Site, the date and time of visits, the pages viewed and paths followed by users to and through the Site. Use Data is collected on an aggregate basis and does not consist of any Personal Information.
How we use collected information
CMW may collect and use your information for various purposes in connection with its business, including, but not limited to, providing access to the Courses, making information and services available to Site users, notifying Site users about important changes to the Site, providing customer service and support, and responding to your inquiries and requests. We may also use information in our collected data to understand how our students as a group use the services and resources provided in our Courses to personalize the student’s experience.
CMW uses Use Data in order to monitor use of the Site, for the Site’s technical administration, and to improve the Site and our services. We also use Use Data for marketing purposes, to conduct tracking and analytics, and to help us understand how people use the Site.
Email correspondence: If you provide us with your email address, we may send you emails about our Site and related Course(s), registration, Course content, or other updates. We may also use your email to inform you about changes to Courses, survey you about our Courses, or collect your opinion about our Courses, and to respond to inquiries, questions, or other requests. We also provide an opportunity for Site visitors to subscribe to certain email newsletters, updates, or offers. By providing CMW with your email address, you authorize CMW to send you regular emails unless and until you request to unsubscribe from such emails. Each email newsletter, update, or offer that we send to you will provide an opportunity to opt out of future email correspondence.
Sharing your personal information
We do not sell, trade, or rent Personal Information to other third parties. Third Party Service Providers: We may share your Personal Information or Use Data with certain trusted third parties that we engage to perform functions and provide services to us, including, without limitation, hosting and maintenance, database storage and management, data analysis, and legal, accounting, and marketing services. Such third parties include, without limitation, Thinkific and Ruzuku. In general, this information will only be shared with such third-party providers to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us, and your Personal Information will only be shared pursuant to binding contractual obligations requiring third parties to maintain the privacy and security of your data.

Once you leave the Site or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or the Site’s Terms of Use.
You may find advertising or other content in our Courses that link to the websites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these websites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site or Courses. These websites and services have their own privacy policies and terms of use. Browsing and interaction on any other website is subject to that website's own terms and policies. CMW is not responsible for the practices and policies (including privacy policies) of third parties and, therefore, you should review the privacy practices and policies of such third parties prior to providing your Personal Information in connection with such websites.
Course Platforms: Our Courses are hosted on the Platforms provided by Thinkific and Ruzuku. Your Personal Information and other data that is submitted through each Platform is processed and stored in accordance with such Platform’s privacy policy and terms of service. For more insight, you may also want to read Thinkific’s Privacy Statement and Terms of Service and Ruzuku’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy . CMW reserves the right to reuse content posted on the Platforms. By posting work on the Platforms, you are accepting this condition.
Payment: If you make a purchase on one of the Platforms, you may be redirected to a third-party payment processor such as Stripe or PayPal to provide a credit card number and other Personal Information needed to complete the transaction. Such Platform may also collect information related to the transaction, including a billing address and telephone number. Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information. These payment processors have their own privacy policies, and we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the way in which your Personal Information will be handled by these providers. You may receive email correspondence from us and or the payment processor related to any online transaction.
Unauthorized use
Unauthorized attempts to use the Site in a way that violates our Terms of Use, to utilize the Site for other than its intended purposes, or to defeat or circumvent the Site’s security features are strictly prohibited. We do not intend for the Site to be used by children under the age of 13, nor do we seek to collect information about children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not provide us with any information and promptly exit the Site.
Course Drop and Refund Policy
CMW understands that our students live busy lives and cannot always attend and complete classes as they have intended.
Below is CMW’s policy regarding dropping out of a class and/or requesting refunds:
Full Classes – Understanding Glazes, Introduction to Clay Bodies and Advancing Glazes. Due to the elevated level of student engagement in these classes, enrollment is capped at a maximum number of students. If you cannot attend a session as scheduled, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can offer the spot to someone on the wait list. If you drop the class before the start date, CMW will refund 100% of your tuition. If you drop the class after the start date and within 2 weeks, CMW will prorate tuition for the time of your enrollment. After 2 weeks, there are no refunds or changes in enrollment.
Lecture Only Classes – Understanding Glazes, Introduction to Clay Bodies and Advancing Glazes. These are on-demand classes that are available to you for 4 months upon enrollment. There are no refunds for these classes as class material is immediately available upon enrollment.
Self-Guided Workshops– The Middle Glazes, Glaze of Our Lives, Glazed and Confused. These are on-demand workshops that are available to you for as long as CMW is around. There are no refunds for workshops as class material is immediately available upon enrollment.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
CMW has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We encourage students to frequently check this page on the Site for any changes. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
Your acceptance of these terms
By accessing and using the Site, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and your consent to CMW’s collection and use of Personal Information and other information as set forth herein. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the Site in any way or enroll in a Course, and you should immediately exit the Site. Your continued access or use of the Site or enrollment in our Courses following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
How do I withdraw my consent?

By withdrawing your consent, you are agreeing to termination of use of the Site and all CMW’s Courses and offerings.
